Why we won’t have a Sacrifice Phase.
We canceled our Sacrifice Phase. Instead, there will be a “Dedication Phase”.
Why?
When Richard Heart announced his first Sacrifice Phase, the outcry was huge. Many community members wondered why they should give money to an entity just to get a token that is worthless at the beginning. Richard managed to explain and establish the concept in a plausible way.
Nowadays, every new project that launches on PulseChain starts a Sacrifice Phase. The problem with this is that very few of these projects have the necessary technical expertise, good ideas, or the community in mind. We call to be careful for which project you sacrifice money. Analyze each project carefully, question the people starting it, and consider whether the idea presented to you can really take root. Generally avoid forks (unless they come from Richard Heart). Just because Richard Heart does successful forks (which he puts a lot of work in to massively improve the initial product), doesn’t mean that everyone else can fork successfully. A fork should not be a simple copy but should bring strong improvements (see PulseChain) over the original product.
All the new Sacrifice Phases popping up every day are in most cases cash grabs, the projects in the background usually have the motto “low effort, high reward”.
What’s the alternative?
As a serious and long-term project, we no longer want to be associated with the term “Sacrifice Phase”, so we decided to choose our own term: we will organize a “Dedication Phase”. Sacrificers are now “The Dedicated”. The specs remain the same, we just want to detach our project from the malicious term “Sacrifice Phase”.
We would like to mention here that LiquidLoans is an example of a product with a Sacrifice Phase which still has great product market-fit. We recommend to stay away from every other Sacrifice Phases.
